attack. >> a hacker group claims it stole personal information aboutapple device owners from an fbi laptop. fox 5's melanie alnwick has more. >> reporter: good morning. it is not clear yet whether the exposure of that information could be personally damaging to apple customers. apple itself has not commented yet on the breach of information. the responsible group, which calls itself anti-sec as in anti-security, says it released the information published it basically to let the public know what kind of information the fbi is collecting. every apple device has a unique identification number which lets itunes and app developers know which device is running which app. for example, the id could allow game developers to keep track of users' high scores. the hacker group anti-sec says it actually found 12 million apple ids on an fbi agent's laptop. anti-sec says the data file had user names, zip codes, cell phone numbers and addresses but chose just to post the device name and number. the group says the fbi is using apple device information for a tracking people project in its own words.

investigating this very closely. the fbi has a lead in this investigation. the information the best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact this was not a preplanned premeditated attack. that what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in cairo as a consequence of the video. people gathered outside the embassy and then it grew very violent and those with extremist ties joined the fray and came with heav heavy weapos which unfortunately are quite common in post revolutionary libya and that then spun out of control. we don't see at this point signs this was a coordinated plan premeditated attack. we will wait for the results of the investigation and don't want to jump to conclusions before then. i think it is important for the american people to know our best current assessment. >> chris: and the last question, terror cells in benghazi have carried out five attacks since april including one at the same consultate, a bombing at the same consultate in june, should u.s. security have been tighter at that consultate given the hi

. his target, according to investigators a packed bar in downtown chicago overnight. the fbi hasn't named the bar overnight, the owner of cal's bar and liquor believes his bar was the target. it matches the description in the affidavit. authorities say daoud drove a jeep cherokee and walked away. the bar's owner says approximately 15 undercover agents wearing ear pieces, surrounded the bar, arresting daoud on the spot. neighbors around daoud's suburban chicago home stunned at the allegation. according to the affidavit, undercover agents posing as radicals first started exchanging documents in may. it shows daoud had allegedly been sharing information online. in the criminal complaint, investigators say daoud made several postings on an interim forum. i hate the oppression of the usa and i'd like to do something to hurt it from the inside, he allegedly wrote. >> islamic extremists believe if you're not part of their philosophy, then you are against them. and so they typically will pick targets where they believe nonbelievers would be. >> reporter: after casing several locations, ac
